The chives are aggressive.

Hazel’s tomato patch is starting to flower.  Better late than never?

The squirrels took advantage of the dogless yard while we were out of town. I’m assuming the rampage ended when they hit the cayenne pepper.

Baby loves savory.

The leaves of my cucumbers started turning yellow, so I’m thinking maybe a magnesium deficiency.  

Hopefully this is a quick fix - 4 litres of water, 2 tablespoons of epsom salt, and 1 dirty watering can.

To Make a Farm - Film screening

For those of you in Winnipeg, the Growing Local conference is kicking off tomorrow night with a screening of To Make a Farm - A documentary following five young people who have decided to become small-scale farmers.

If you are free, why not check it out?  It’s on at 7:30 PM at the Marlborough Hotel (331 Smith Street).  Admission is a suggested donation of $5.
