Fruit Share's session at the Growing Local conference

One of the awesome sessions we attended at this year’s Growing Local conference was a jam making workshop put on by Fruit Share.  I’ve always been a bit confused about the pectin-sugar relationship, so I was stoked to get this awesome Pectin Chart created by Getty Stewart.

Fruit Share Manitoba

My mind is stuck on next summer, so I thought I’d share some information on a really great volunteer-led organization called Fruit Share Manitoba. The organization brings together fruit owners with extra fruit, volunteers, and community groups by sharing the ‘work’ and the harvest. Fruit owners can sign up and have volunteers take care of the harvesting, volunteers can sign up to harvest (among other things) and enjoy some of the pickings, and community groups get a  food donations.
